Schäferhöhe residential development Construction of the "Schäferhöhe residential development" project began in 2018. It consists of three building sections, each of which forms an apartment building. They contain a total of 116 apartments. The buildings have a highly thermally insulating hybrid building envelope made of wood as well as a ventilation and PV system. There was one major challenge for the implementation of the project: up to 100 people were involved in the construction. However, they needed to be coordinated. Initially, Marti Gesamtleistungen worked with the usual software. However, this reached its limits given the size of the residential development project, particularly when it came to tasks, logs and defects. Jürg Bircher recalls: "We quickly realized that we needed something completely different." And that's how smino came into play. Jürg Bircher established close contact with smino company founder Sandor Balogh, who accompanied the changeover to smino together with him. A short time later, everyone involved in the project was already working with smino. Cost-effective training investment The fact that the switch to a new tool like this went so quickly and smoothly is primarily due to smino's intuitive operation. It was developed in such a way that practically anyone can use the collaboration software with little learning effort. This also applies to the employees of Marti Gesamtleistungen. Nevertheless, they all received a short supplementary training course and a handout. The total time investment: less than an hour per employee. "smino is so easy to use," says Jürg Bircher, "that we were able to switch to the program quickly." And anyone who still needs support during the process can get help within a minute via chat support. "Switching to smino and working with it is economical and works," he continues. And because the application was so convincing, the team managers in the "Execution" department decided to use additional smino modules - the construction diary, an acceptance tool and a tool for apartment handovers during sales were introduced.

smino used in the new construction of the FOITT/ISC-FDJP administration building This decision has already proven its worth in other projects, such as the new FOITT/SIC-FDJP administration building for the Federal Office of Information Technology and Telecommunications FOITT and IT Service Center ISC-FDJP in Zollikofen, which was completed in 2021. The biggest challenges of this construction project were primarily in coping with the size of the eight-storey building, which houses around 1,200 workstations on a floor area of over 33,000 square meters. Around 200 jobs had to be awarded at the start of construction. Marti Gesamtleistungen was already working with BIM models, which work well for such project dimensions, but working with smino made it easier for the numerous parties involved in the construction to exchange information. Even more smino "Fewer tools, more smino!" is the motto at Marti Gesamtleistungen. The modules used so far have proved to be a stroke of luck for the Bern-based company. For example, the plan filing system. But Marti Gesamtleistungen has even bigger plans for smino. Jürg Bircher explains: "Next, we want to implement project-specific quality management in smino. And in general, we are pursuing the goal of using smino in as many service phases as possible: from calculation to project development and execution. After all, there are many advantages to having all the basic information for a project stored in just one place." Marti Gesamtleistungen is currently working with smino to implement the checklist tool and will also be using it for costing in the future. A close collaboration has been established in order to achieve an optimally functioning result. Conclusion "I would use smino again at any time!" explains Jürg Bircher, listing the main advantages: "It is much easier for site managers to work together, and smino is also perfect for monitoring tasks, defects and inspections. And what is particularly important: smino makes work much easier. We all work much more efficiently, even with a very high workload."
